Liane Biog:

Liane Carroll is simply one of the most entertaining and gifted performers around, exemplified in her winning some of the most prestigious awards in UK Jazz .

There is freshness, humour, originality and bite in her music - she's not like anyone else. She hasn't attempted the pointless exercise of copying jazz vocalists of an earlier age, she's too honest a performer to cash in by stealing someone else's clothes. Therefore, the BBC Jazz Awards were something she was truly "chuffed about" ( 'Best Female Vocalist' and 'Best of Jazz' awards BBC Jazz Awards 2005 - unprecedented for any performer - and 'Best Vocalist' British Jazz Awards 2006 ). There is nothing 'noodly' or 'lounge lizardy' about Liane's performances; her shows are powerful and electric.

Liane has wowed audiences worldwide and regularly packs out Ronnie Scott's Club. Her televised concert on BBC and her live BBC broadcast from Glastonbury were stunning. Also, Liane was been voted 'Best Live Act' 2003 in the world's biggest selling Drum 'n' Bass magazine, "The Knowledge", alongside her compadres in Drum 'n' Bass collective "London Elektricity". Liane also received one of the first 'Ronnie Scott Awards' along with Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Jamie Cullum and her very personal album 'Slow Down' ( available on Splash Point Records ) received rave reviews from the music press and the critics. Even Liane, an incredibly humble artist, given her huge talent, has not failed to notice the likes of Tom Jones, Amy Winehouse and Kevin Spacey at her concerts.

"Without a doubt, one of my all time favourites. She has a remarkable delivery, powerful and soulful but at the same time she can sing a ballad to make you cry. A personality to die for. Simply one of the most entertaining performers we have here" Steve Rubie, 606 Jazz Club, London.

"Highly Recommended - Love it!" Michael Parkinson.
