Dear Yamaha Music Schools operators,

I am absolutely thrilled to hear that Yamaha Music Schools across the country will be launching a new partnership with the NSPCC to raise vital funds for the ChildLine service.

Providing children, young people and adults at your music schools with the opportunity of a free taster music lesson for a suggested donation of £2 for ChildLine is a fantastic idea and I'm sure the interschool competitions, instruments signed by the musicians and a schools band emerging to perform at the next ChildLine Rocks will be exciting ventures for all the children involved.

To hear that all the Yamaha Music Schools will be aiming to raise over £60,000 really is fantastic. This will make a huge difference in enabling our volunteer counsellors to answer more calls and online contracts from children who have been bullied, abused and neglected and who desperately need some one to turn to.

One of our volunteer counsellors recently told me of a phone call she took from a seven year old who simply said, "Can you help me make my mummy love me?" The loneliness of such children is heart-breaking - but at least the compassion and commitment of our counsellors gives them hope.

So, on behalf of all the children and young people for whom ChildLine really is a lifeline, please accept my gratitude and appreciation for all your support, I wish you the very best with your fundraising and music over the coming academic year.
