Louisa Beard and Jamie at Chappells
Jamie Cullum proved why he is rated one of the UK’s best live artists as he treated a select audience of record company executives and VIPs to a virtuoso solo performance and sneak preview of his new album, ‘The Pursuit’, to be released in September.
Performing in the dedicated recital room at Yamaha’s Artist Centre,London situated within the heart of Chappell’s piano department on 28th May, Jamie played a Yamaha CFIIIS Concert Grand Piano to entertain the specially invited audience with over an hour’s worth of new compositions and standards, plus the theme from the film ‘Gran Torino’ that Jamie co-wrote with legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood.
Using the piano frame for percussive accompaniment at times, Jamie’s unique musicality and energy that has become his trademark drew a rapturous response from the audience who were dazzled by his exciting showmanship.
Prior to the concert, Jamie spent time talking to staff and admiring the wonderful selection of Yamaha pianos on display in Chappells piano department.
