Life on the edge

Yamaha sponsored rider Nick Sanders is the world’s fastest and most successful global circumnavigator, with over 400,000 miles and seven round the world trips to his credit. He now brings his hugely entertaining and informative expedition experiences to the general public through a unique and highly sophisticated cinema experience to be showcased at major international motorcycle shows this year.

Nick has been invited by the organisers of this years Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show to debut the worlds first Motorcycle Cinema show at the NEC in November (the show runs between the 27th Nov and Dec 6th).

"The Motorcycle Cinema has brilliantly captured the essence, spirit and challenges of my 30 years of adventuring around the globe " says Nick Sanders, "I have ridden the length of the Americas twice, the Alaskan Highways eight times, Morocco twelve times and done the London to Timbuktu journey three times, I felt a real need to share my experiences and the endurance and humour needed with a wider audience through cinema."

'In the Land of Men' is a professional, high impact, fast paced cinema show created from hundreds of hours of footage from Nick's last fifteen years adventuring. It also features many of Nick's heroes including Mr Robert Dunlop at the Skerries and rare footage of biking 'landmark' events including the legendary aviation fuelled 'Rocket Bike' ridden by Frenchman Eric Teboul and Nick's crossing of the Bolivian Andes on his Yamaha R1.

For added realism the whole show will be transported by the 7.5 ton MAN desert truck backup vehicle used by Nick Sanders for his group expeditions to Timbuktu, the truck contains the 24 foot stage from which live music will be performed throughout the show.

Nick hopes that the show will inspire others to find there inner adventurer. "We have a fantastic show packed with great sound and events to compliment the visual experience, visitors will think they are at the top of the Andes themselves! - I really hope that the audience will also find the confidence to do their own thing."

In a clever example of joined up thinking, 'In the Land of Men' is produced in association with a combined Yamaha partnership taking in Motors, Professional Audio and Home Cinema products.
