Yamaha teams up with Brass in Concert for another exciting Championships

Brass in Concert 2011 – Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th November 2011


Brass in Concert returns for another year and this year promises to be the most exciting championships to date!

On Saturday 19th November, the Sage plays host to Youth Brass in Concert which includes workshops, a free concert by Rochdale Borough Youth Band the Action Research National Youth Entertainment Champions 2011 and also some brass taster sessions throughout the day.

Later on that evening, World of Brass in Concert takes place at 7.30pm providing the perfect prelude to the Brass in Concert Championships on Sunday. Featuring The International Staff Band conducted by Stephen Cobb and the Brass Band of Central Florida conducted by Chad Shoopman this concert promises a great evening of music.

On Sunday, the world’s leading entertainment based brass band championship starts. Defending Champions, Grimethorpe Colliery have been drawn at number 10 and Yamaha Artist Russell Gray will be taking to the stage with Fairey (Geneva) Band along with Katrina Marzella on Baritone and Yamaha will also be represented by their partner band, Leyland who play 11th.

Always and exciting competition, Brass in Concert promises to be as hard fought as ever and we’ll be there with a full range of Yamaha instruments on display for you to see during the breaks.
