Yamaha New Jazz Sessions CD Launch 2011
For the fourth year running the Yamaha New Jazz Sessions CD will be released on the front cover of the December/January issue of Jazzwise Magazine.
Featuring this year’s Jazz Scholars, the CD once again provides listeners with an insight into the future of British jazz. Also including Bonus Tracks from Arun Ghosh, Anders Astrand and Mercury Prize nominee Gwilym Simcock, the 2011 CD also features a special ‘one to watch’ track by Mathis Picard an exciting young pianist studying at Chetham’s School of Music.
Back in July, the Yamaha Jazz Scholars were presented with their awards as part of the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group’s Summer Jazz at Portcullis House. Chosen for their outstanding jazz musicianship, each of the scholars was nominated by the Heads of Jazz at six of the UK’s leading conservatoires.
In recognition of their achievement and to mark the launch of the Yamaha New Jazz Sessions CD, Josh Arcoleo (Saxophone), Chris Eldred (Piano), Jonathan Silk (Drums), Chris Hyson (Double Bass), Nick Costly-White (Guitar) and Reilly Stone-Lonergan (Saxophone) will all be performing on Wednesday 7th December 2011 at the world famous 606 Club in Chelsea, London.
As with previous years, the launch of this much anticipated CD will no doubt draw huge crowds to the 606 Club so it’s advisable to book in advance. To find out more and to make a reservation visit - www.606club.co.uk.
