24/8/2010 [About Yamaha]

At 7.30am on the 4th September, our trusty transit van will be arriving at Symphony Hall, Birmingham in preparation for the 2010 British Open Brass Band Championships. Alongside our fantastic range of Brass Band instruments, you will also be treated to the first look at our newest arrival.

This year’s British Open will give you the opportunity to cast your eyes over the new instruments and see the Neo tenor horn in action with Sheona White. As announced earlier this month, Sheona along with her Neo tenor horn, will be joining Grimethorpe Colliery Band on stage as the first female musician to perform in a competition with them.

The first shipments of the Neo tenor horn have now arrived, giving you the perfect opportunity to test the instrument for yourself. In addition to this, there’s also 0% finance available on new instruments, so if you’re at the British Opens, make sure you visit the trade area and speak to one of our dealers.

Of course, if you are unable to get to Symphony Hall, we will be regularly updating our Twitter page and uploading photos of the day to the Yamaha Band & Orchestral page of Facebook so make sure you check that out.

After the British Open, the new instruments will be also on display at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain Lower Section Finals in Harrogate and of course, the Championship Section Finals at the Royal Albert Hall, London where we will also be supplying all of the percussion instruments for the finals.

It promises to be another exciting year in the brass band world and we look forward to seeing you at all of the upcoming events!
