03/07/2009 [Artists]
This months Gigs and Tunes could easily be a Glastonbury special with a plethora of Yamaha equipment and artists performing throughout the weekend. This proves that what ever the genre of music, whoever the artist and where ever the gig, Yamaha equipment is in the mix somewhere!
YAMAHA IN YOUR EARS!
LA ROUX – Bullet Proof
La Roux’s follow up to the hit ‘In For The Kill’ continues to prove these guys are the new electric duo to watch out for – and may get us buying 80’s shoulder pads as well as their music!?!
LITTLE BOOTS – New In Town
Yamaha’s tiny footed beauty continues to prove what she lacks in foot size she makes up in talent proving herself the new queen of electric pop, wowing audiences with her Tenori-on skills.
NOISETTES – Never Forget You
To follow up a smash such as ‘Don’t Forget The rhythm’ is almost an impossible task – but The Noisettes have done just that with their new track ‘Never Forget You’. Another party summer anthem done, using Yamaha Drums and Guitars.
JASON MRAZ – I’m Yours
Definitely MY tune of the summer (apologies to my neighbours!), Jason Mraz’s ‘I’m Yours’ leaves you wanting to kick off your shoes and dive straight in to the nearest river – all this on a full band of Yamaha equipment - SG2000 and PACIF1511 guitars, S90ES stage keys and Oak Custom Drum Kit.
YAMAHA IN YOUR FACE!
Glastonbury 09
With tens of thousands attending this years SUNNY festival – we virtually filled it with Yamaha artists and endorsees alone. Our Yamaha musicians played such gear as MOTIFXS synths, OAK X Drum kits and the brand new NTX1200 guitar for such big headlining acts as:
Lily Allen, Regina Spektor, The Ting Tings, The Rakes, Little Boots, Blur, La Roux, Calvin Harris, Jason Mraz, Paolo Nutini
Anastacia
Anastacia is not outta love with touring as she embarks on her European Summer Tour, she is supported by Yamaha Artist Hannah Vasanth on her MOTIFXS6, MOTIFXS8 and APX500 guitar, taking in Finland, Russia, London and many more.
Take That
Take That continue to wow audiences with their CIRCUS tour around the country, pleasing screaming girls and boys from 10 years ago along with a whole bunch of new young fans. Musical Director and friend of Yamaha Mike Steven’s runs the show with the band including a MOTIFXS6, MOTIFXS8, Yamaha baby Grand piano and the all important Yamaha saxophone for ‘A Million Love Songs’.
