On the 12th July 2010, Yamaha Trumpet Artist, Bobby Shew, will be taking to the stage with the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra.

As part of the Wigan International Jazz Festival, world renowned trumpeter, Bobby Shew will be performing at Celebration Hall. Joining him on stage will be the fantastic Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Ian Darrington MBE.

Bobby Shew began playing the trumpet at the age of 10. Over the years Bobby has performed all over the world and has featured on a number of recordings and soundtracks. In addition to his busy performing schedule, he spends a considerable amount of time in education conducting workshops and masterclasses in schools and universities around the world.

Having been involved with Yamaha for a number of years, Bobby Shew has helped develop a number of instruments in the Yamaha range including the YTR6310Z and YTR8310Z trumpets.

Most recently, Bobby Shew has been a key figure in the development of the new YFH8310Z flugel horn. Launched earlier this year at Musikmesse, the new flugel horn benefits from the depth of character of traditional flugels with the playability and superb intonation made possible by high-tech engineering. A versatile instrument, the YFH8310Z is so easy to play in the upper register, you'll forget you're playing a flugel!
