The tour and festival season is on its way and we are lucky enough to have some of the best, coolest and brightest artist choosing Yamaha gear every time for their recording and performances. Below is a small selection of which artists are flying high in the charts and available to download IN YOUR EARS and who’s out and about on tour this month IN YOUR FACE…two words girls…TAKE THAT (SCREAMMMMM!)
YAMAHA IN YOUR EARS!
ADELE – 21 / 19 / Rolling In The Deep / Someone Like You
Beautiful Adele is pretty much the Queen of the British charts at present, with 2 singles in the top 40 chart and her debut album ‘19’ at #3 and new album ‘21’ at #1 in the UK album Chart. Adele chooses her band to play MOTIF XF’s 7 & 8 and can be seen on the promotional circuit throughout the month!
TAKE THAT – Progress
The boys are back in town! Their first studio album as a 5-some in over 10 years ‘Progress’ is still flying high in the charts. They have already released some great tracks off the album and are gearing up to go on tour! They’ve practically raided Yamaha’s drum cupboard and are playing them all!
JESSIE J – Who You Are
Jessie J continues to bust out some great pop tunes and as well as releasing hit after hit from her debut album ‘Who You Are’, she is performing everywhere. From award shows, to Cannes, to her own live dates, Jessie is certainly doing it like a dude! Yamaha artist Hannah Vasanth lays the keys down on her set of MOTIF XF synths.

TAKE THAT – Progress Tour
As well as riding high in the singles and album charts the boys are about to tour in a big way with over 40 dates across the UK and Europe! Take That’s Musical Director Mike Stevens has selected some great musicians to accompany the boys and are playing heaps of great Yamaha product, from CP1 stage keys to DTX Multi Pads, APX guitars, a huge Oak Custom kit and much more!
PAOLO NUTINI – Live Dates
Yamaha hero Paolo and his collection of NTX guitars are about to do a few live dates across the UK, bringing his easy, laid back and too cool for school style to you.
LOADED – Duff McKagan – Live date
The American rock band is in the UK along with Yamaha endorsee Duff McKagan for a summer of festivals. They first are performing / rocking out at the ‘Download festival’ this month. Duff’s guitar of choice is the SG1820. Be ready to form the rock claw as they treat you to old, new and hard tunes!

Using Yamaha's Air Seal system for the first time allows the use of oak in a drum shell. As in our Maple and Birch series, this process delivers a shell that's perfectly round, with uniform thickness and excellent durability. The bass drum shell is 7-plys while the toms and floor tom shells are 6-plys. All shells throughout the entire range deliver a solid fundamental and powerful sound. These small, oval-shaped lugs are easily attached to the shell with a single bolt. This means minimum lug to shell contact allowing the shell to deliver maximum tone. Long found on our high-end drum kits our original YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mounting system is on all Oak Custom toms and floor toms.
