WOW – What a few weeks! Festival season has been wild! Just Google any festivals or shows from over the summer and you’ll see bands on stage rocking out with their Yamaha gear! As well as live shows, our artists have found time to release new tracks and albums, so have a look below at a small selection of artists who, with their Yamaha gear will be available to download IN YOUR EARS and out and about IN YOUR FACE live!
YAMAHA IN YOUR EARS
JASON DERULO – Jason Derulo
Jason’s self titled debut album continues to dominate the top ten of the official album chart, with no less than 4 singles in the top 40! Jason uses Yamaha MOTIFXS’ as well as our Yamaha dance moves!
PAOLO NUTINI – Sunny Side Up
64 weeks in the album chart! 64 weeks! This fantastic album refuses to go away. A great feel good album full of anthems, all played on his high end NTX1200R.
MICHAEL BUBLE – Crazy Love
Michael Buble, like Paolo above has dominated the album charts for most of the year with his ‘Crazy Love’ album being top of the album charts for 44 weeks. Michael’s band uses a mixture of Yamaha gear from drums to strings. Michael’s normally seen with a MOTIFXS when on stage. This is an album full of great swing ballads, old and contemporary.
RIHANNA feat Eminem Love The Way You Lie
Rihanna, not content with a sell out world tour or with releasing track after track off her top selling album, Rated R, has found the time to feature on Eninem’s recent release ‘Love The Way You Lie’. Rihanna has recently been supported on tour by American and English Yamaha artists, notably our very own Hannah Vasanth on MOTIFXS6 and XS8 stage keys.
YAMAHA IN YOUR FACE
THE LIBERTINES – Reunion Tour
It’s easy to forget the amazing music the Libertines have once made with them always appearing in the tabloids for the wrong reasons. It is great to have them back doing what they do best and over the next few weeks will be playing a few warm up gigs, recently doing an exclusive friends and family show. Drums are provided by an OAK Custom kit.
STEVE GADD – Mission From Gadd
The one, the only Mr Gadd finally gets to the UK for this leg of his Mission From Gadd tour (rudely postponed by some incident in Iceland!) Gadd is playing his clinics to sell out audiences in Reading, Dublin, Edinburgh and Manchester, even making a guest appearance at The London Drum Show.
GORILLAZ – Plastic Beach
A virtual band from an alternative universe and Damon from Blur; what’s not to love! Gorillaz are touring throughout September on their team of MOTIFXS keys. Great music and a visual fest – check them out where you can!
SKUNK ANANSIE – Various
Skunk Anansie continue to tour the festival season near and far playing their old favourites and introducing their new material to old and new fans alike. Mark Richardson continues to provide the beat on his Yamaha kit, showing them how it’s done!

Using Yamaha's Air Seal system for the first time allows the use of oak in a drum shell. As in our Maple and Birch series, this process delivers a shell that's perfectly round, with uniform thickness and excellent durability. The bass drum shell is 7-plys while the toms and floor tom shells are 6-plys. All shells throughout the entire range deliver a solid fundamental and powerful sound. These small, oval-shaped lugs are easily attached to the shell with a single bolt. This means minimum lug to shell contact allowing the shell to deliver maximum tone.
