The outfit was developed under the guidance of one of the world’s most respected violin professors, Zakhar Bron, and internationally-renowned violin soloist, Pinchas Zukerman, resulting in a violin that has been fashioned to achieve the tonal characteristics of older, more matured violins, and superb emotional expression.

Crafted by the most experienced artisans, the YVN500 uses select materials, seasoned with precision to ensure that it offers the full, rich and responsive tone that exacting violin players require. To achieve the quality finish, Yamaha have produced a newly-developed oil varnish specially for the YVN500. It all amounts to a violin that is made to exude quality and allow the violinist to express every nuance of what they are playing.

Handmade in Yamaha’s Toyooka Custom Workshop, Japan, the new YVN500 is available in both Stradivarius and Guarneri del Gesu designs. In Stradivarius form, the violin offers solid and bright sound that is highly responsive to the player’s expression, being exceptionally alert to the most intricate changes in the bowing. In Guarneri del Gesu design, the outfit conveys a warm, rich sound with a clearly defined low and mid range, and a high range that is sweet and melodious.
