DTX uncovered. The power, the potential and the possibilities revealed

Yamaha are pleased to announce a series of DTX events to take place at dealers nationwide throughout June and July to inspire the use of electronic percussion for practice, live or in the studio with performances and detailed demonstrations.

These events will be a unique opportunity to get to grips with the full potential of the latest DTX electronic drum kits including the flagship DTX900 series featuring the groundbreaking DTX-PAD. Constructed using the newly developed 'Textured Cellular Silicone Head’ technology which offers unprecedented dynamic control and feel for players. Led by Simon Edgoose, the Yamaha’s UK demonstrator for the DTX series, these intimate sessions are aimed to answer all questions and provide an overview of the full potential of the new DTX products along with some great performances and inspirational advice.

The events will be held in partnership with Yamaha’s DTX dealer network throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. There are limited spaces available to ensure that the demonstrations are beneficial to everybody attending, for more information please contact your local participating dealer (list below) to book your place.

Along with being Yamaha’s DTX demonstrators, Simon Edgoose is a busy freelance drummer. He began playing drums aged 8 and has been playing professionally since he moved to London at 18 to attend music college, signing his first record deal soon after. He has extensively toured the UK and Europe with bands, artists and shows and as a programmer he has worked on many major British TV channels and films. Simon Edgoose is highly experienced in electronic percussion and has been involved with Yamaha’s R&D team in London supporting many new product designs and creating voice content exclusively for Yamaha.

About the events Simon Edgoose commented “There have been so many fresh new DTX products released this year. The new DTX-PAD design feels fantastic to play and has brought electronic drums into a new era, however the depth of these products is so much more than just the new DTX-PAD and I can’t wait to show the full potential of these amazing new products at these events”

The demonstrations will provide an overview of the following:

. The DTX-Pad design and its benefits.

. The internal sounds and user options.

. How to sample sounds to enhance your music.

. How to layer sounds to create performances

. How to record using Cubase
