The DVX1000 - a new way to enjoy home cinema
Yamaha's all-new DVX1000 has already received a coveted 5-star rating from buyers’ bible, What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision. The DVX1000 offers - for the first time ever - true surround sound from only two speakers. At around £1000, it's not the cheapest 2.1 system on the market but, as What Hi-Fi commented, “Can the DVX justify the price premium? Yes it can!”
Within seconds of unpacking the system it's clear that this is no budget offering. Yamaha have succeeded in producing highly detailed surround sound from just two speakers, employing the company’s unique Air Surround Xtreme* technology. The DVX1000 combines superb sound quality with a compact, contemporary design style, whilst the optional sub-woofer provides the required grunt and heft. DVD Playback is great, too! The DVD receiver even uses high quality Faroudja DCDi picture processing to achieve 1080p picture quality over HMDI, delivering a deep and well-defined image.
We'll leave the last word to What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision, "If you're in the market for a 2.1 system and want to distance yourself from the budget crowd, do not part with your cash before giving the Yamaha a blast."
*Air Surround Xtreme system delivers 7-channel sound from two speakers.
