The 16-series acoustics feature a premium solid Engelmann spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides and a 3-ply Mahogany/Rosewood/Mahogany neck which lends strength and a more balanced tone. Upgrading to the LLX16 also adds the System 60 ART preamp as used on the Japanese L-Series models.
System 60 couples the 3-way A.R.T sensor system to an exclusive preamp which offers ultra-simple controls (3 independent pickup volumes – bass, full-range, treble - and master volume) with hi-fi grade components for the most transparent, powerful electro-acoustic system available. Using custom-designed, calibrated push-push pots, the System 60 controls are designed to offer stage-friendly ergonomics but be hidden away and not detract from the traditional looks of the L-Series when not in use. The L-Series A.R.T system faithfully reproduces the stunning tone of the L-Series guitars with complete transparency – both in terms of sound and playing experience.
