Yamaha C3XSH Silent Piano on tour with Adele

With multiple Grammy wins, an Oscar for the James Bond song Skyfall, millions of albums sold worldwide, and a phenomenal level of critical and commercial success, only the highest quality live instrumental sound is acceptable on the tour.

Accompanying Adele on tour will be a Yamaha C3XSH silent grand piano, chosen after evaluations of both its outstanding tonal characteristics and extensive MIDI capability, which allows the instrument to be connected to external sound devices, making live sound production much more efficient.

Born in London in 1988, Adele studied at the BRITS performing arts school, eventually posting a 3-track demo on MySpace. This brought her to the attention of industry executives and her first two albums, 19 and 21 proved massive global hits.

In 2015 the critically acclaimed SH Silent Piano series won the Best Acoustic Piano award at the prestigious UK Music Industry Awards, having been previously awarded an International 'Quiet Mark' by the Noise Abatement Society.

Yamaha Silent pianos offer all the benefits of a traditional upright or grand acoustic instrument, plus a host of added high technology features which dramatically extend the creative potential and experience of the acoustic piano at home or in a range of professional and studio settings. Put simply, pianists can now use headphones to play in silence, connect their instruments to computers, and enjoy a wide range of extra sounds from the onboard digital sound generator. At the heart of these added benefits is, of course, a traditional Yamaha acoustic instrument.
