Yamaha Corporation appoints first non-Japanese Executive Officer from Europe.


Rellingen, June 22nd 2016 - Yamaha Corporation, the world’s leading Musical Instrument manufacturer has today announced that it has just appointed the very first non-Japanese Executive Officer.

Thomas Schöpe is currently the President of Yamaha Music Europe Gmbh, and took over the role in April 2015.  Mr. Schöpe, previously Vice President for Yamaha Music Europe at its European Head Quarters in Hamburg, Germany is a native German himself and has been with the company for 37 years.

His appointment as Executive Officer is a clear message from Yamaha Corporation and its Global President, Takuya Nakata, that Yamaha will be an internationally managed and run business that ensures Yamaha’s growth across the global music market.
