Yamaha provides pianos for renowned Deutscher Musikwettbewerb 2018

March 5th marked the start of the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb 2018 (German Music Competition 2018) in Bonn, Germany. Once again, Yamaha supports this renowned event by providing all upright and grand pianos for the competition. Organised by Deutscher Musikrat, the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb is an annual meeting point for “Tomorrow’s Stars of Classical Music”.

During the two-week event, young musicians compete in different categories – this includes solo performances as well as chamber music and composition. The goal of the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb is to give a stage to and create opportunities for up and coming classical artists. For successful participants, the competition is the starting point for extensive sponsorship programmes, giving them a guiding hand for their musical journey.

Supporting young artists is a cornerstone of the Yamaha philosophy – so it is only logical that the company has been partnering with the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb for years. In 2018, Yamaha once again provides all the upright and grand pianos for the two-week event. All competitions are played on grand pianos by Yamaha, approximately 20 of those are made available for the event.

Traditionally, the winners of the competitions perform exciting concerts during the last two days of the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb. This year, those concerts take place on March 16th and March 17th in Bonn and Siegburg.
