Andrew Small's Hybrid & Triggering Masterclass at DRUMFEST 2017

An opportunity not to be missed!

Renowned hybrid drumming pioneer Andrew Small will be opening Yamaha’s DRUMFEST events in September and October with a masterclass on hybrid drumming and triggering. The 3-day festivals, which are entirely devoted to drumming, will take place in Cardiff, Birmingham, Nottingham, Glasgow and London.

Andrew Small is one of the world’s most respected drummers and has pioneered what is now commonly known as ‘hybrid drumming’, bringing the worlds of electronic and acoustic drums together on live stages around the globe. With his distinctive deep and soulful groove, Andrew is just as comfortable behind a studio mixing desk or piano, as he is behind his drum kit. His deep knowledge and understanding of music production have enabled him to use elements from recordings within his drum kit to enhance live performances. Andrew has worked with many of the biggest names in the music industry, such as Massive Attack and Moloko and furthermore acted as Musical Director for Kylie Minogue and Il Divo.

There is no one better than Andrew to give a step to step guide of how electronics can be used to complement your playing when tackling various styles of music, as well as to highlight the pitfalls to avoid. The Masterclass will consist of a live performance, Q&A and thorough demonstrations and is definitely an opportunity not to be missed.
